About

I am a freelance writer and photographer who specializes in travel stories. I have recently made Bangalore home, though the heart is still in Bombay. In an earlier avatar, I was a qualitative market researcher and particularly enjoyed ethnography work and social research. I now take on research projects only rarely and prefer to spend my time in either actual travel or planning my next trip.

I write on my travel experiences for newspapers and magazines, though all the time I spend in front of my computer is not necessarily on such productive activity. Often, I am just playing tetris, having perfected that ‘I am busy’ look over the years. And sometimes, I am plain dreaming about the places I have been reading about and want to visit soon.

My website, like my life and long-term career plans, is a perpetual work-in-progress…

Alice said (in, of wonderland) – ‘If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?’

More of my world will be up soon. For now,

~Bangalore, female, wanderer, earth, rains, islands, progressive ideas, humour, persistence…

~what-makes-people-tick, qualitative research…

~friends, my blogs, relationships…

~sunflowers, P.G. Wodehouse, music, white wine, haiku, the hills, road journeys…

~sunsets, crossword, creative thinking, photography, travel writing…
