Smell the coffee in Coorg

When you think it is time to stop and smell the coffee, then you know it is time to head to Coorg. Officially known as Kodagu, Coorg lies in the heart of coffee country, indeed in the area where coffee is believed to have first come to India in the 17th century, hidden inside the robes of Sufi saint Baba Budan from Mecca.

Avoid the chaos of the main town Madikeri and set up base in a homestay or resort in the quieter parts of Coorg. Chill in the shadow of waterfalls like Abbey or Iruppu, or watch the soothing morning prayers at Bylakuppe monastery, near the second largest Tibetan settlement in the country.
