My laptop is back in shape after that crash. But a couple of things. One is that my bloglines account has vanished – I mean, the account is there, but now it shows feeds of only three blogs – I had a few hundreds earlier. This is weird but I have no idea why this happened. Is there any way I can retrieve it? Else, I am going into public feeds of bloggers I know and trust to copy their list.
And the other thing is – I have reinstalled itunes on my laptop but the entire library is wiped out – so what happens the next time I connect my ipod to my laptop and it syncs? Do I have to import songs / albums into itunes again (and what is worse, organize them by artist, genre etc. sicne my music is otherwise very disorganized – I take it as it comes wherever it come from!)
All you bright geeks out there, please stop smirking now and give me gyan. thanks!
No bloglines, only GReader. So can’t help you on that. No idea too why it happened.
Also, no iPod, no iTunes. Only WinMedPlayer. So, can’t help thou on that count too. If you need some mujik, let me know. Will send you MP3s of IR, ARR, and some Jose Gonzalez.
The ipod itunes problem is easy to solve. Next time you connect your ipod to your laptop, just make sure
you click on the option to “Manually manage your music” which means itunes will never automatically synch
your ipod and you dont want it to, unless you have a full backup of your music library elsewhere (which i
know you dont!).
Once you have checked the manuallu manage your music option, what happens here onwards is as follows:
1. Your itunes library and ipod will permanently remain out of synch i.e. your ipod will have more songs than
your itunes library.
2. Everytime you connect your ipod, you will need to drag and drop into the ipod, the new songs that you
added to your itunes library and want them copied to the ipod.
3. All the classification by genre, artist, playlist etc will be in synch between ipod and itunes, for the new
songs added post-crash era.
Hope i havent confused you. If I have, call me on the weekend. I cant fully solve your bloglines
problem, i do know that there is a “.opm” file that bloglines keeps for each user, maybe you should write
to the helpline on bloglines website. You can also write to mohitmohitatgmail.com with a cc to me, he might
have some ideas on how to solve this.
Hi I am an amateur blogger inspired by bloggers like. Kindly give a feedback on my new post:review of cafe coffee day on- http://www.gurukagyan.blogspot.com
>> bloglines account has vanished
Since bloglines is a web service, it has nothing to do with the laptop crash.
I guess you have tried the wrong login name and password. A few people have 2 accounts and forget which one to access.
