But, its a pity that both the newspaper and the tutors, themselves are so arrogant and ignorant, a deadly combination. I have taught in US, I have seen really smart cookies. If Americans were not intelligent, it would not produce the world’s most PhD’s excluding the internationals.

I don;t think anything wrong in that, I have teachers who has experiance of 20 years in Maths and Science, they are reahing around 600 students every year, if at a reasonable cost of $9 some one gets more knowledge, i think it should be welcomed.

    I have spent lot of time identifying critical success factors for any online tuition assignment. Few of them includes Technology, communication skills, minimum cultural differences and of course knowledge of subject.
    I have attended couple of online sessions; it’s not as easy as it sound. That’s where good use of technology will be critical. To make the tuitions more interactive and interesting use latest gadgets, don’t worry you will soon recover the cost of every thing. NO ONE MIND PAYING IT IF IT IS WORTH PAYING.
    As of today most of the assignments are coming from US, so try learning some US accent like our Call Center executives, remember accent of kids is more difficult to understand compare to adults. Listen some audios or watch lot of Hollywood movies 🙂
    Read about learning practices at destination, that will help you in dealing with students and they will show more interest in your teaching.
    No comments about subject knowledge, I am sure that you have that’s why you decided to take this step forward.
    You can also register yourself at some reputed online tuition providers as tutor, that will give you lot of options and opportunity. Don’t watch investment watch “Return of Investment”, after all money is important for every one 🙂

    Good to see so much initiative in this smart way of teaching 🙂 Interested tutors can approach in 2 ways , either they can join some Online Tuition provider company e.g. Career Launcher , or start their own venture from home by registering them selves to online Tuition website(s).
    With first you will not need any investment if you can go to their facility and teach. Since that is possible only for local tutors so opportunities are very limited. Some companies allow you to teach from home with your own infrastructure and they arrange for students. You get part of fee received from students. Remember LOW RISK LOW GAIN, HIGH RISK HIGH GAIN”.
    If you decide that you will directly deal with students, register yourself to any good tuition website by paying a small fee (About $10 and more). Search for students, offer your services and receive completed fee. Sounds difficult? Think of higher gain, it won’t sound that difficult 🙂

    Online Tuitions still long way to go but I am sure Pioneers will have advantage.
