What are these ad makers thinking?

Microsoft tells you in all earnestness – It’s a great time to be a family.

Watch this and tell me what you make of it…

Here is a simple test for these copywriters – before you wrap up your work and get ready to sell it to a client, put a negative word in the line and see what happens. In this case – It’s not a great time to be a family.

What do you mean it’s a great time (now) – when is it ever not a good time to be a family? And what does a computer or worse, an OS have to do with it?

And while I am on this, I may as well tell you about the other ads for which this test would work: Disprin: Jab sar dard ke liye time na ho

As in, there are other instances when you actually have the luxury of time to enjoy a headache? Jab sar dard ke liye time ho, then don’t take a Disprin?

This, in my estimation, falls just below Whisper’s abominable “Have a happy period!”
