The heart of Incredible India

This is the best state tourism ad I have come across in a long time… most states have the same kind of ads… focus on one monument, one beach, or anything else that is believed to attract visitors… and a few obvious descriptors. Madhya Pradesh tourism this neat collage taking the viewer through the length and breadth of the state. The ad is even better heard on radio, a singsong listing of the wonders of the state…

It starts off with Til dekho, Taad dekho, Aankhen phad phad dekho, Sher ki dahad dekho, Marble ka pahad dekho, Chanderi ki saadi dekho…. goes on for a whole minute – yeh dekho woh dekho… and finally hindustan ka dil dekho – marrying geogrphy and history and culture and all the rest of it with one line. The heart of Incredible India. I love this ad.

  1. Hello,
Very true. I have seen this ad a few times on TV. Its really nice. And where did you get this pic? Looks nice too.
    Sathej

  2. Oh yes, infact not just tourism but this is one of the best ads I’ve seen in recent times – seriously making me contemplate a trip to MP 🙂

The TV version is great too!

  3. Sathej, I haven’t seen the TV ad (but I dont watch tv much) – I saw this ad in some magazine and then hunted for it on the agencyfaqs site.

Apu, oh yes, one of the best ads I have seen in a long time too. Ogilvy, not surprisingly. And MP is full of delights – you must go sometime. my next destination is Mandu – before the rains stop.

TCP – thanks! glad you liked the photos.

  4. This jingle in the TV ad surely got me. But somehow it didnt run for long. Will have to search for it on YouTube. But there was an ad by makemytrip.com which was definitely inspired by this one…but the MP tourism one really rocked.
    Nice set of blogs.

  5. Wasn’t there a bit of confusion about who first came up with that MP logo? Allegation was, it was ‘borrowed’ from another logo. Let me dig it up.

  6. Sid : this is lovely! thanks… the radio ad is just the same – I guess when I was reading thru the print ad, I kept hearing the voice from the ad – and that is what made it more enjoyable for me!

  7. This is just awesome….. I don’t recall a better advertisement I have come across, specially for tourism.
